1. Data Collection and Usage
Mena: Menstrual Cycle Tracker helps you log your periods, see predictions for your next cycle and get reminders, in a simple and private way. This privacy policy explains how your data is handled.
Important: We Prioritize Your Privacy
- We DO NOT collect, store, or transmit any of your personal or health data to our servers. The app has no servers and no accounts.
- We DO NOT have access to your cycle records, notes, identity, or location.
- We DO NOT use analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone.
- The app is built with a "Privacy by Design" approach, meaning all processing happens locally on your device.
2. Local Storage (Your Cycle Records)
Everything you enter is stored locally on your device using Apple's native storage:
- Cycle Records: Period start and end dates, flow, symptoms, mood and notes.
- Settings: Your cycle and period length, reminder times and app preferences.
- No Cloud Sync: Your records are not synced to our servers. If you delete the app, your records are removed from the device. Your data may be included in your own iPhone backups (iCloud or computer), which are managed by Apple and under your control.
3. Apple Health (Optional)
If you turn on "Save periods to Apple Health" in Settings, and only with your permission:
- the app writes the period days and flow you log to Apple Health;
- the app reads periods saved in Apple Health by other apps and adds them to your calendar.
Health data is never used for advertising or marketing and is never shared with anyone. You can withdraw this permission at any time in the iPhone Settings app under Health > Data Access & Devices.
4. Reminders and Alarms
Reminders and alarms are scheduled locally on your device and are never sent from a server. When private notifications are turned on, your lock screen does not mention your period.
