1. Data Collection and Usage
Art-Tok & Museum Discovery is designed to provide a seamless experience for exploring world-class art and museum archives. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data.
Important: We Prioritize Your Privacy
- We DO NOT collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data to our external servers.
- We DO NOT have access to your personal files, identity, or location.
- The app is built with a "Privacy by Design" approach, meaning most processes happen locally on your device.
2. Local Storage and SwiftData (Your Vault)
When you save an artwork or an artist to your "Vault", this data is stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework.
- Saved Artworks & Artists: All collections you create remain strictly on your device.
- Image Cache: To provide a fast experience, the app caches art images locally using a secure SHA256 hashing algorithm. You can clear this cache at any time by uninstalling the app.
- No Cloud Sync: Your "Vault" is not synced to our servers; if you delete the app, your local collection will be removed.
3. Third-Party Services & API Usage
The app fetches historical and artistic data from public reputable sources.
- Europeana & Wikimedia APIs: The app retrieves artwork metadata and images from Europeana and Wikimedia Commons. No personal user data is sent to these services; we only request public art information.
- Apple App Store / StoreKit: If you choose to upgrade to Premium, all payment and subscription management is handled securely by Apple. We do not have access to your credit card or billing information.
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): The free version of the app may use Google Mobile Ads to display advertisements. Google may collect anonymous device identifiers as described in their own privacy policy.
4. Data Security
- Encryption: All communication between the app and art archives (APIs) is conducted over the secure HTTPS protocol.
- iOS Security: We utilize iOS's native secure storage mechanisms to ensure that your local "Vault" data is protected from other applications.
